A new banner — on view in the Science Center — celebrates the production of the 10th Edition of “The Organic Chem Lab Survival Manual” by James W. Zubrick, professor of Chemistry. The new banner depicts covers of the 10 English editions added to the Japanese and Portuguese editions. The 12 are arranged in a circle as the hours of a clock with the caption, “Time for World-Class Chemistry,” at the top, and a pair of clock hands set to noon, pointing directly at the latest 10th edition.
The previous banner, “World-Class Chemistry Teaching,” although absent the 10th edition cover, has proven to be quite a recruitment tool over the past few years, as visitors stopped and got their picture taken with the nine editions along with the Japanese and Portuguese covers as a backdrop.

Adoptions of the 10th edition still include Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Princeton, and, of course, Hudson Valley Community College.
